... and good ones.
Craig's personal pages are being looked after. They will not vanish into thin air.
A server has been offered up in the event Sowny.ca needs it. A meeting with moderator Robert Edds is being planned. So the future of the site will be solid.
Several people have asked if we could do a Sowny Show on the topic of Craig and the board to raise or answer questions, or simply comment. Yes.
Some folks can not make it to the funeral for various reasons. The first person to understand this, would have been Craig, so not to worry. You will be there in spirit without question.

I am so sorry to hear that Craig didn't make it out of his serious illness. Craig would often visit The Marsbar Theater Chatroom and was a digital friend to many there. In particular the rooms moderator Marilyn Hamilton. I know many there will miss his visits. This past Sunday night I let my listeners know of Craig's illness. There was such a feeling of caring flooding in through both the Chatroom and the e-mail.
Craig also came to my birthday party last year. It was such a pleasure to see him again and spend a few moments chatting. I'm thrilled now by that memory. Craig was such a positive man regarding so many things.
Please pass along my thoughts about Craig and his wonderful contributions to the thing he loved. Radio.

Last night at 9:05 pm our dear friend Craig Smith passed away peacefully.
We've held off on the news until now to allow communication with his relatives in off-continent.
Arrangements for the service for Craig will be made in the next day or so, details of which will be posted here.

Craig's room is full of flowers, cards, and large amounts of sunlight coming through the window beside his bed.
He doesn't seem aware of the presence of guests, Eyes closed. While there he seemed to be in slight discomfort. A nurse was called in. She turned down the upper part of the bed which was tilted to about a 30 degree angle. Laying horizontal, Craig calmed right down. He was then relaxed.
He's lost weight, but looks peaceful, though color indicates he's been through a lot. He was resting quietly by the end of today's visit.

Poster bobnoxious visited Craig for a few hours. Craig was sleeping, relaxed, but non-responsive. Not awake at all.
Craig has been sleepy for some time now, even when he was at home. But we know he's comfortable. The last phone call was pretty much a one-way conversation, as Craig was very tired. Another update will come later today after a visit to the hospital.

Craig had visitors today. Not much of a reaction.
He had nourishment. Not much of a reaction.
Telephone calls. Very little dialogue.
However.
E-mails read to him got his attention. One in particular ;-) brought a big grin to his face. Thanks to ALL for the good wishes and thoughts.

First off thanks to Tim Sykes for providing the photo of Craig. It was taken during during a meeting in Waterloo.
There was a report somewhere that Craig was suffering clinical depression. Not true, although judging from discussions on the board perhaps many folks are depressed about one thing or another so this isn't surprising.
But it is true, Craig is not doing well.
Almost daily updates on Craig's progress are called in from his close, personal friend Peter Leigh who will be looking after Craig's personal affairs. Information he feels should be passed along to Sowny.ca readers will appear here on a regular or semi-regular basis.
E-mail addressed directly to Craig will not be answered.
However mail will be read to Craig, if directed to the hospital at: https://www.southlakeregional.org/patientemail.html
Craig is in good hands in the hospital. He has a good-sized "support group" trying to keep his spirits up, and we know he appreciated all the kind thoughts sent to the hospital from Sowny.ca readers.
Thanks to John Derringer and others for their official thoughts.
Craig could do a turn-around, re-gain strength, walk and possibly get back on the transplant list.
But as of this week, he's off the list, being too weak to proceed.
